That's how I Started my Career

It was on 2nd July, 2013. I was browsing through some pages in the web when I came across "Whitelake Technology Solutions". The name sounded familiar because they came to my college for campus recruitment. As I had nothing worthy to do, I browsed through the pages of the website and accidentally I saw this.

I thought for a while. Why shouldn't I send my resume? For the first time in my life, my thought process did me some good. That was the first time I tried to create a resume for me. It took a while to prepare my resume. Again my thought process interrupted me. "Hey Jeen, don't send it. You're not going to get this anyhow" - this time my thought process discouraged me. Finally I have sent my resume with zero hope.

The next day while I was helping my dad in his business I received a call. Little did I think that it was my interview call. I had a phone interview for about 20 minutes.The interviewer introduced himself as Guna. The questions were mainly targeted to check the genuineness of my resume. And then I heard the words I won't forget. "Jeenfer, why can't you come over here today?"

I said "OK" almost instinctively. I was asked to be at the office at 3 pm. That's when I realized that I'm no more a child. I gathered all my certificates and started for my first interview.I literally didn't know what an interview is. I didn't have any trainings on how to attend an interview. The only thing I knew about interview was that I should be formal.

After a few hours I was inside the lift. A strange feeling got into my mind - anxiety, excitement,or fear, well, I can't really explain that feeling. All I knew was, when the lift opens, I'll be in a new world. A world that is completely different; a world I'm not used to; a world that probably will be my new world.

I was brought back to the real world when the lift opened. There I am; the new world I always wanted to see. I went to the HR and got my resume verified. I was asked to attend a test. Well, that was very frightening for me. I didn't have any prior experience. I just backed myself to write that test. I hope I did it well. I was then asked to meet the CEO. 

I entered the CEOs room. I felt confident that time and took my seat. The CEO introduced himself as Guna. That's when I came to know that Guna and CEO are one. That was quite funny for me. The other person in the room introduced himself as Karthick. The interview, unlike I thought was much fun. It was rather a conversation than an interview. I hoped that I convinced them that I can be selected. 

The interview got over and I was sitting at the reception. What'll happen if I'm selected? I went to a quite little dream and that's when the HR told me, "Congratulations Jeenfer, you're selected". And that's how I got my first job!!!
